One of the most renowned action RPGs, Path of Exile, specifically its sequel, is coming to PlayStation 5. It will include support for cooperative play on a single console, known as couch co-op, allowing play on a single account or with two separate accounts on one console.
Originally intended to be just an expansion, Path of Exile 2's beta will start next year. On the PS5, Path of Exile 2 will support both cross-play and cross-progression, enabling seamless transitions between PC and PS5 versions without losing any progress. Otherwise, it’s the same "classic" Path of Exile 2, offering twelve character classes, each representing a combination of strength, dexterity, and intelligence. Players can further specialize through 36 Ascendancy classes, providing extensive customization options. The new skill system includes 240 skill gems and 200 support gems, allowing players to create powerful skill combinations. Each skill can now link up to six times, significantly enhancing the already robust flexibility.
Path of Exile 2 features 700 base types of equipment, each with unique items. New weapons such as spears, crossbows, and flails, along with supplementary items like scopes and traps, ensure you'll always have ways to combat hordes of enemies.
The creators also insist in their announcement on the PS Blog that Path of Exile 2 will remain free to play, with no pay-to-win elements. The exact release date for the full version on PS5 is still unknown, but early access will begin later this year, just like on PC.
